Message From Central Road School
Mrs. Joanna Shostachuk, School Principal
A Note from Mrs. Shostachuk 7/29/2021
Dear Central Road Families:
I hope you are all having an amazing summer break! It is so valuable to take quality time to spend with family and friends especially after the 20-21 year. The time off was rejuvenating and much needed for all of us. My family spent time traveling to Wisconsin, Tennessee, and Georgia for some fun in the sun. We probably visited every park, splash pad, and bike trail in the Northwest suburbs too. In between, we squeezed in some small scale adventures with family and friends. Family always comes first and our time together was memorable and simply relaxing!
As I began my transition to Central Road as of July 1, 2021, I have enjoyed getting to know our staff and community. I have already felt a great sense of pride, team work, and connectivity in my short time here. It is evident that students come first. I enter the 2021-2022 school with huge excitement, enthusiasm, and some natural nervousness. I thank you all in advance for your flexibility, patience, and partnership. I am simply thrilled about welcoming all of our students back to school in the coming weeks.
Communication is key and is part of the foundation to any successful working home-school partnership. Please plan to receive regular, written communication via a parent newsletter especially in the coming weeks as we all prepare for the upcoming school year. My door(s) will always be open to listen and work together. We will continue to accomplish amazing things for our Central Road community.
This summer, some of our students attended Summer Blast here at Central Road. Students had so much fun working with teachers and staff from across our district during our summer school program. It was great seeing our students smiling and wanting to learn for the few short weeks they attended.
The Central Road Elementary staff has been working very hard to prepare for another amazing school year! Both August 16th and 17th are dedicated to professional development days for our teaching staff. We will be focused on preparing our students for academic, social-emotional, and functional preparedness. We are committed to providing the best possible educational experience for your child(ren). Whether your child attended school in person or virtually last school year, we will be welcoming all of our students back with open arms!
We will be hosting a New Family Welcome on Wednesday, August 4th for all new, incoming families to Central Road School. Our welcome will take place virtually from 5:30-6:15 pm (all families). From 6:30-7:15 pm, we will be hosting a Spanish speaking session. All new families to Central Road School are welcome to attend as general information about our school and district will be shared.

6:30 pm Session (Spanish): http://meet.google.com/fqu-hxrv-jhf
Teacher/classroom assignments will be viewable by parents/guardians in Infinite Campus
on/after August 5th after 4:00 pm. We are working hard on finalizing registrations and placing students appropriately into classrooms as needed. If you have not completed the registration process, please kindly contact our school office to finalize the process as soon as possible.
The Central Road teachers would like to tentatively invite all of our students to Meet the Teacher Day on Tuesday, August 17th from 8:30-9:30 am. We kindly ask students to bring their school supplies to Meet the Teacher. If you and your child are not able to attend our scheduled Meet the Teacher Day, your child may bring his/her supplies on their first day of school. School supply lists have been linked below for your review. All entering our building on this day are asked to wear a mask.
I am so excited and proud to be the new Principal at Central Road Elementary School. While I have “big” shoes to fill, I am confident that we are going to have a successful, fun, and productive school year together. Please enjoy these final weeks of summer. I look forward to getting back in the routine of things with many smiling faces walking the halls of our amazing school!
Kindest Regards,
Joanna Shostachuk

A Note from the Central Road Health Office
Hello! I hope everyone is enjoying their summer so far! With the start of the new school year only a few weeks away, it is time to make sure your child’s health requirements are up to date.
All students new to District 15 will require a current physical exam with all immunizations up to date (Certificate of Child Health Examination), and students new to the State of Illinois will require an eye examination. This form is available in the school office, online, and here: State of Illinois Eye Examination Report.
All students should provide proof of immunizations by October 15, 2021, or the student will be excluded from school. The list of current immunizations can be found on the district website here: IDPH Health Requirements.
Students with health conditions such as asthma, epilepsy/seizures, severe allergies, and diabetes require the emergency action plan completed by their physician along with the Medication Administration Forms, signed by the physician and parent, for any medications required at school. Please bring these forms and medications on or before the first day of school. These forms are available in the school office, online, and here
Diabetic Medical Management Plans must be brought in along with medication and supplies prior to or on the first day of school in order for the student to attend.
If your child requires any of these health documents and you have not done so already, please kindly make an appointment with your doctor as soon as possible. If you have any questions regarding the above requirements, you may reach me at patela1@ccsd15.net. I will be back in the office the first week of August to answer any phone calls. At that time, we will also have more specific information to share related to COVID-19 guidelines and restrictions for the upcoming school year. Thank you for your patience. Stay safe and enjoy the rest of your summer!
