DEPTH, TEMPERATURE AND PHOTIC ZONE

This features were measured along the Guadalquivir river

Last Thursday 2º of May we measured this parameters since Seville to San Lucar De Barrameda , we took samples from different stops along the river.

PHOTIC ZONE

Is the depth of the water in a lake or ocean that is exposed to sufficient sunlight for photosyntesis to occur.

-you have to introduce the "Disco de Secchi" on the water
-When you can´t see it you take the "Disco de Secchi" and see the depth
-You have to multiply the depth by two
-You have to repeat it twice and calculate the mean

TEMPERATURE

Is a physical quantity that is a measure of hotness and coldness on a numerical scale.

You have to introduce the bottle with the termometre on the water in a depth of 5 metres , and you have to wait two or three minutes
After three minutes you have to see the temperature
You have to repeat it three times and do the mean

DEPTH

Is the space between the surface of the water and the floor

To measure it you need a weighted rope
You have to repeat it three times and calculate the mean
The rope must be vertical.
