In last month's DECA Regional Competition, senior Rebecca Jacob won first place in her first roleplay, first place in her second roleplay, and...you guessed it...first place on her written test, making her the Overall First Place winner in her Marketing Communications Event and the only LHS competitor to earn first place in all three categories. We are incredibly proud of your accomplishments, Rebecca!
Art Department At it Again
- The work of Michael Austin, a student in Cheryl Eng's AP Studio Art class, is being featured alongside that of Mel Leipzig (master realist painter and LHS's Artist-in-Residence) at the Trenton Free Public Library's "Persistence" show, which began on February 22nd.
- The work of Emily Mah, also an AP Studio Art student, was selected by the Art Educators of NJ to be the official T-shirt logo for Youth Art Month. Emily will be honored by AENJ at a reception in Trenton on March 10th. You can see her winning design here (scroll down to the fourth image): http://aenj.org/yam/

Brave the Shave
LHS once again has a team for the St. Baldrick's event on March 10th at Amalfi's restaurant. Visit Mr. Adam's page HERE to join the team or make an online donation. Whether you decide to become a shavee, donate, volunteer, or just help us spread the word, every bit of support makes a difference! Please join us for the "big shave" event on March 10th, as teams have their heads shaved to show solidarity with infants, children, teens, and young adults fighting childhood cancer.

LHS Theatre Company Presents...
Please join us for an LHS Theatre Company's production, an 80s rock musical, THE WEDDING SINGER, on March 15th, 16th and 17th at 7:00 p.m. in the auditorium. Tickets can be purchased at the door, or in advance from SHOWTIX4U.com. Tickets are $8 for seniors and students in advance and $10 dollars for adults. The story of the wedding singer, based on the Adam Sandler movie, follows wedding singer Robbie Hart after he is stood up at the altar on his wedding day. Will he find love again? Come out and find out!

February Scholarship Bulletin
Check your emails, Naviance, or guidance office for the latest Scholarship Bulletin for February. There are many local, regional, and national scholarships available to qualified applicants for two- and four-year colleges, and vocational-technical schools. Apply to as many scholarships as possible for which you are eligible.
You and your parents should also submit the FAFSA application (free government application for financial aid). For further information about the FAFSA go to www.fafsa.ed.gov. You may also want to check out www.finaid.org or www.scholarshipowl.com for more scholarship information.
* ALUMNI NEWS *
On Saturday, February 24th wrestlers Mike ('01) and Mark ('04) Savino were inducted into the New Jersey Region 5 Wrestling Hall of Fame.
Mike was the LHS record holder in Career Takedowns, pins, and was the first Lawrence wrestler to top 100 wins with 105. He was a two time JFK Holiday Tournament Champion,three time Mercer County Tournament Champion and a two time District 17 Champion taking home the MOW both years. Mike was also a two time Region 5 Finalist and the 2001 Region Champion. In the state tournament he placed 7/8 in 2000 and 6th in 2001. Mike continued his wrestling career at Brown University and was a 2006 NCAA national qualifier. He is currently the VP of Financial Consulting at Merrill Lynch.
Mark Savino is currently the LHS record holder in both season and career takedowns. When he graduated he also had the school record for career wins with 115. Mark was a two time JFK Holiday Tournament Champion, two time Garden State Classic Champion, a three time Mercer County Champion and a four time District 17 Finalist and two time Champion taking home the MOW award in 2003. He was a two time Region 5 Champion and placed 7th in the state in 2003. In 2004 Mark was the NJ State Champion at 130 pounds and the first State Champion from Mercer County. He continued his wrestling career at Brown University and is currently a Financial Advisor and Managing Director at Northwestern Mutual.
