Trombly Terriers Taking Care of Business
December 3, 2018
A Few Upcoming Dates:
Report Cards - Home on Tuesday, December 4
The first report card of the school year will be sent home with students on Tuesday, December 4. It will be great opportunity to have a conversation with your child about the first marking period and their goals for the second.
Winter Concert - Tuesday, December 11
Our annual Winter Concert will be held on Tuesday, December 11 in Pierce Middle School Auditorium. Curtain will rise at 7:00 PM. The concert will feature the students from Mrs Price’s, Ms. Block’s, Mrs. Golus’s, Ms. Orhan’s and Mrs. Ozar’s classes. Our school choir, Avenue B, will also perform. We will be walking over to Pierce in the afternoon for rehearsal.
Habit #2 - Begin with the End in Mind
Now that we are in the month of December, we are increasing our focus to include Habit #2 - Begin with the end in mind. Beginning with the end in mind is probably something most students do not do. This habit asks students to plan ahead and set goals. It also requires students to be prepared at all time. Another component is thinking how choices made now affect one’s future, good or bad.
What a coincidence that report cards will be coming home as we begin our work on Habit #2 - Begin with the end in mind. This is a great opportunity to set academic goals with your child and help them develop a plan to achieve those goals. Or do they have goals for items of special interests like music or athletics? Having a successful plan and monitoring one’s choices that impact that plan can certainly lead to some private victories.
