Dear Families
I hope all students were able to get some rest this past week. As you all know the weather affected the Taft area once again as power was lost for about 2 days, so we were fortunate not to be in school. As we prepare to return on Monday it looks like we will continue with rain and cold, so please make sure to send your child in appropriate clothes for winter. All students should wear closed shoes daily as they are outside running at recess and for Physical Education.
Testing
Please make sure that your child is at school daily. We are starting Iready testing for our third- fifth graders this week and ELPAC testing already started for K-2 students. We will continue testing for ELPAC for 3rd-5th grade after IReady testing is completed. So please make sure to have your child in school.
Attendance
We continue to have many students absent. We realize that students are still getting ill and that they need to stay home. Once they are feeling better, please have send them to school. Everyday a student misses, is a day less of learning. Please make sure to call and leave a message at school for your child's absence. We continue to have unexcused absences due to parents not calling the school.
Thank you to all the families who continue to call in their child absence or filling out our google form.
Pancake Breakfast
Thank you to all the families who came to support the Pancake Breakfast on February 11th. Your patience for getting served was definitely appreciated as the IHop team was cooking as fast as they could. The fifth grade students are very appreciative for all of your support.
Great BIG SHOUT OUT to Boys and Girls Club for supporting the event and providing free activities for our students to participate in.
Reclassification
Congratulations to our 17 students who were recognized for making progress in their English skills. These students no longer will have to take the ELPAC test this winter. We are very proud of each student for this accomplishment.
