Water Pollution Around The World
By: Gerald Releford
Why is Clean Water Important?
Clean water is important for many reasons. One reason why clean water is important is that without clean water we could caught diseases known as waterborne illnesses and get sick, and then possibly die as a result. Another reason why clean water is important is if the water is contaminated it could harm our water and end up in our sewers and lakes and hurt or even kill the fish and little critters that live in that area.
Next Lets Talk About Three Countries Water Quality Compared To USA.
Africa
Africa Water Quality
According to the WHO (2006), only 59% of the world's population had access to adequate sanitation systems, and efforts to achieve the Millennium Development Goal, which is aiming for 75% by the year 2015, will fall short by nearly half a billion people. The situation of access to clean water and sanitation in rural Africa is even more dismal than the previous statistics imply. The WHO (2006) stated that, in 2004, only 16% of people in sub-Saharan Africa had access to drinking water through a household connection (an indoor tap or a tap in the yard). The quality of the water compared to USA is hugely worse only about 15% clean water according to the WHO (2015) To be honest I don't know a possibly solution to Africa's water pollution problem, but if I had to guess I'd say give Africa more sanitation systems and access to fresh and clean water.

Russia
Russia Water Quality
Every third sample from sources of drinking water in Russia fails to meet acceptable standards due to chemical contamination, according to Russian consumer watchdog agency Rospotrebnadzor. Source: Russia Beyond the Headlines Moreover, nearly half of Russia’s population lacks safe drinking water. As recently reported by Greenpeace, water pollution is widespread: Source: Russia Beyond the Headlines.Thousands of companies have dumped dangerous chemicals into rivers and lakes, and these pollutants are inevitably absorbed into the human body through water and food.” Which is a major problem. I believe that russia only problem, or biggest problem is that they need to stop all the companies from dumping the chemicals into the rivers and lakes.

China
China Water Pollution
At least 60 percent of China’s underground water resources have “very poor” or “relatively poor” quality, which means these water can’t be used for drinking directly, says a new report, showing a deep environmental crisis in the country. The recent results show a decrease in the amount of drinkable underground water in China by 2 percent compared to 57.4 percent in 2012. According to the report, water quality became worse in 754 areas monitored by the ministry and improved only in 647 sites. The recent results show a decrease in the amount of drinkable underground water in China by 2 percent compared to 57.4 percent in 2012. I think one solution that could help this country is just to increase the underground water resources because I think that is the best solution.
