Weekly Update

Week of April 25-29

Good afternoon,

After a week of rain we get some sunshine! State testing began this week for out 4th and 5th graders and they are working so hard! K/1 enjoyed a visit from Olive Dog, a local gorge therapy dog. Olive dog has been "reading" books to the kids all year and they finally got to meet her today. The students learned about all the different types of families our world has and enjoyed an art project led by Olive and her owner. Olive is an adopted dog with two moms!

As we move further into spring we have a lot coming up. The STEM Bus will be here for three weeks starting in May. All students in grades K-5 will have multiple hands on lessons and experiential learning opportunities throughout the STEM Bus visit. We will be welcoming families into the building on May 18th for a hands on STEM night experience! We will have multiple stations set up for families to learn and explore together!

We will be needing volunteers to help run some of the stations at STEM night. You can sign up for a time slot and then still have time to have fun with family after! Please reach out to the office if you are interested in volunteering.

We we will also be planning some field trips this spring in May and June. To volunteer please fill out the volunteer application sooner than later to ensure you are cleared and good to go!

We will be holding our 22-23 incoming kindergarten registration and information session on May 5th at 5:30-6:30 at Cascade Locks Elementary. Please spread the word!
