The Compass
Week of March 7, 2022
Navigation Notes
Hello Westside Families! This week is our final week prior to Spring Break with NO SCHOOL on Friday, 3/11. (Spring Break for students: March 11-March 20) Please be sure they are HERE and ON TIME each day. Also, if you arrive after 8:00am, please park and walk your child into the office to sign them in. It is a safety concern for students to be dropped off in our parking lot unsupervised. Thank you.
Our front office will be closed during Spring Break starting 3/11. If you have concerns, please address them prior or on Monday, 3/21 when staff returns.
Thank you to all the families who have completed the BPS Parent Input Survey. The window is still open and you can click HERE to access. Your voice is important to us!
We will be doing Spring Cleaning soon with our Lost and Found rack. If your child is missing a jacket, please have them look for it this week in the Commons. All unclaimed jackets will be donated to local shelters after Spring Break.
As always, feel free to reach out to us with any positive feedback or concerns. We look forward to another amazing semester together!

Westside's Fun Run is Coming!
We are gearing up for this year’s main event and fundraiser--the Westside Fun Run! Our goal is to raise $30,000 towards enhancing our outdoor areas including picnic tables, new play equipment, painted gameboards and much more!
During the program, students will experience an amazing character theme called SPORTS CITY WORLDWIDE which focuses on fitness and inspires students to activate their character.
Then, students and families will gather donations for every lap your child runs (30-35 laps) at the Westside Fun Run Day on 4/1. Donations will go toward supporting our school and can be given throughout the entire experience. There is no pressure to give, but we invite you to help our school by getting donations from family and friends and entering them on MYBOOSTER.COM starting on 3/9.

Name the Zoo Street Contest We are down to our final 2 names for Westside's "zoo street name" submission. Students can VOTE on their favorite name for the next 3 days by donating non-perishable food items. One item equals one vote! All food donated will be given to the local food pantry at the end of next week. Winner will be announced on Thursday, 3/10! | Spring Break Challenge This week, students will be bringing home a Spring Break Bingo Challenge! There are many activities they can choose from and help with the "I'm Bored" syndrome that happens. If a student earns a BINGO, send back in on Monday, 3/21 for a chance to win prizes! | Academic Support Program (ASP) ASP continues this week on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 2:30-4:00pm for selected students. If your child is participating, please be sure to pick them up in the SIDE car loop with ID at 4:00p. |
