EAGLE NEWS

February 26. 2023

Hello Families,

We had a very interesting last week. Thank you all for your patience as we dealt with the weather. Currently it's snowing heavily at my house (again) with the forecast for another 4-5 inches. I guess this will be another interesting start to the week! Below is some important information for the coming weeks.

Conferences Coming In March

Conferences are scheduled for March 15th-17th. Teachers will be connecting with families in the next few weeks to schedule conferences. We would love to meet in person, but will have a virtual option for those who need it.

100th Day of School Celebration

We have moved the 100th day of school celebration to Wednesday, March 1st. We encourage all students to dress like a 100 year old. This should be a fun day for our students and staff.

Eagle of the Month

Our celebration for Eagle of the Month will be Friday. Hope to see you at the assembly to cheer on your child

DISTRICT UPDATE

Family Coding Night @ Molalla River MS

To Our K-8 Families,

We have some exciting news to share! Our middle school is participating in a Family Code Night, a learning event for all K-8 families. The event will be on Tuesday, February 28, at 6:00 PM at Molalla River Middle School. We encourage you to attend with your children--it's great fun and could inspire young talent.

  • What is Family Code Night? Watch the invitation video.

  • How can you participate? Join our event and register by February 24th by clicking this link.

  • Is coding experience needed? No! All you need is a shared computer, tablet, or Chromebook for each of the two family members connected to the internet. We will even supply the computer if needed.

  • Are there prizes? Yes! And everyone gets a Code@Home Guide, full of free coding games and activities.

I hope you and your children will join in for this family fun and shared learning. Make sure you register for this free event by February 24th. We’ll see you there!

State Assessment 3rd-5th

Each year our third, fourth, and fifth-grade students take state tests in the areas of ELA, math, and fifth graders also take the science test. These tests will take place in the spring and are completed during the school day. Students will take practice tests during class and families are encouraged to explore the tests as well. Families can access the sample tests here.

There is also an option to opt students out of the ELA and math tests, if this is something you are interested in doing please contact Mr. Womack and complete the attached document.

If you would like to opt-out of the science test please send Mr Womack an email. Also, if you have any questions about the assessment feel free to contact your child's teacher or Mr. Womack.
