Knight Times
April 2021
In Person Learning
We have been so happy to have our students on campus these past two weeks. It's wonderful to see our Knights walking the halls of our new campus, and we are incredibly impressed with how everyone has adjusted to being back at school in person. We are also happy to see learning continuing via Zoom for those who are not attending in person.
As a reminder, Spring Break is scheduled for April 5 - 9, 2021. We DO have school tomorrow, April 2nd.
Starting after we return from Spring Break on April 12th, students who have opted to attend in person will be able to come to campus two days a week. Please see the bell schedule and alphabet breakdown below for our 50% hybrid model.
The district sent out a survey asking families if they would send their students in person if a 4 day a week option was made available before the end of the school year. At this point, that was for information gathering purposes. If anything changes, we will be sure to communicate and notify students and families.
Please reach out to us if you have changed your mind about whether your student will continue attending virtually or if you would like them to attend in person. Also, please reach out to us if you have any unique circumstances (for example, two children in the same home with different last names) which result in a request for you to switch to different days for your child. We will do our best to accommodate those requests.

Warming Shelter Update
The Vacaville City Council voted to end the Warming Center Program at Georgie Duke on March 31, 2021. They also voted to put some funding towards beds at Shelter Solano in Fairfield and Opportunity House in Vacaville for the residents who have been staying at the Georgie Duke. We thank everyone for their patience and understanding with this.
Yearbook Photos
That being said, we want to ensure that every student is in our yearbook! If you missed picture day and will not attend our final make up day , see the flyer below for information about how you can still be in the yearbook. The deadline to submit a picture is Sunday, April 18th.

Featured Club of the Month: Mental Health Awareness Club
The Mental Health Awareness Club was formed in hopes of working towards the de-stigmatization of mental health at our school. The mental health of students is incredibly important, and talking about your mental health seems to have become shameful and discouraged in our society. Due to this, we as a club hope to be able to show students that mental health discussions are nothing to shy away from, and that it is very important and beneficial to be educated on mental health and talk about it. This year, we have started doing presentations on different mental health disorders to teach the club what they are, some statistics about them, as well as what to say and what not to say when discussing that particular disorder with someone. Some topics we have learned about so far are ADHD, OCD, eating disorders, and Autism Spectrum Disorder. We have also started journaling, which we have all found to be relaxing and fun!We meet every other Thursday at 2:30. If you are interested in joining, Loopmail Annalisa Galvan or Quinn Chapin. We hope to see you at our next meeting!

Vocabulary Bowl
We are headed into the last month of the Vocab Bowl and are currently the number 1 school in the nation; we have every intention of keeping it that way, but it's going to take a concerted effort from all students to make it happen. If you want to follow our progress as we make our way down the home stretch, you can do so here: https://www.vocabulary.com/leaderboards/schools/high-schools/division-iii/bowl/2020-21/
Mr. Price sent out a Loopmail to students earlier this week sharing that by participating, students can earn prizes and be entered in a drawing to earn a PS51!
Students need to follow the instructions exactly in order to be eligible to win.
To begin, in order to be eligible for any prizes, students need to create an account on vocab.com and join the Vocab Class that corresponds to their grade level. Students MUST join one of these classes to participate!
Freshmen, you can join the competition here: https://vocab.com/join/1W6X0NS
Sophomores, you can join the competition here: https://vocab.com/join/1XTP6N
Juniors, you can join the competition here: https://vocab.com/join/4C08KGD
Seniors, you can join the competition here: https://vocab.com/join/3NVW3P6
