Conception
This creates a zygote and the zygote attaches to the uterine wall, called implantation
First Trimester
The brain ears and arms begin to form and heart forms and starts to beat
The embryo is 1 inch long at 8 weeks,
Second Trimester
Body begins to grow, and becomes more active in the womb
Weight of the fetus begins to increase and is 12 inches long
Third Trimester
Some fetuses dream during their sleep
They weigh about 6-9 pounds and are ready to be born
Birth
When it's fully dilated the baby passes through the birth canal
Then the baby is born
Infancy
Infant is dependent on others to meet his or her needs
Needs to trust others to provide his needs
Early Childhood
Child learns to walk talk and dress and feed himself or herself
Self control and confidence start to develop, begins to desire independence
Middle childhood
6 to 8 years
Child becomes more engaged in interactions with othersModels adult behavior
Late Childhood
8 to 12 years
Child completes transition from home to schoolLearns to use tools and aquire skill
Adolescence
12 to 18 years
