An Update From Principal Melissa Rohr
We recently received word from Superintendent Chris Reykdal that Washington State schools will not be participating in the spring Smarter Balanced Testing. All schools will however be testing next fall and spring instead. While we all know that this year has provided a challenge in many areas of everyone's life, we are excited that this will allow us time to continue targeted instruction with students to the end of the school year.
Each year Smarter Balance Testing is meant to check student's understanding of the state adopted standards. Due to COVID we focused in on the absolute essential standards students needed to know to move forward with their education. Our faculty is working across grade levels to ensure the next grade of teachers know what was taught so they can move students forward next year.
We cannot express enough gratitude to you as families for the partnership we have formed with you over this difficult year and we look forward to continuing that partnership as we move forward. So for now, everyone can take a breath and focus on learning rather than testing.
