A few reminders
- Word Study will continue next week.
- Students took a unit test this week. Unit tests will not be sent home and will grades will not be reflected on the report card. They will be shared at conferences. We will continue to work on breaking apart the text to help with our comprehension and on different types of sentences.
- Yoga mats are coming home today. This week was soggy but we still used them a lot outside this week. Please make sure to rinse them off and clean. Thank you!
- 10/30- Book Reports are Due. We will be sharing on November 2nd.
- 10/30- Wear your costumes to school. Please remember no blow up costumes, masks (other than the ones worn to school each day) or props.
Language Arts
Vocabulary: We learned new vocabulary to help us while reading our novel. They included, measly, racket, vanish, hollering, hesitated and bawling. Next week, these words and 4 others will be on our word study test.
Reading: We started reading Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing. We are LOVING this novel and find it very entertaining. We started our Keynote Journals. These journals will hold vocabulary, summaries, video explanations, Clips projects and more! Complete Keynote Journals will be uploaded to Seesaw in November.
Writing Workshop: Since we started a novel, we talked a lot about different characters in fiction stories. We choose a character that we would like to be (in a real story or made up) and then created a character biography.

Math
We started our new topic on multiplying with one digit numbers. We completed equations to show how I can multiply multiples of 10, 100, and 1,000. Used rounding to estimate products, and check if answers are reasonable. We also used arrays and partial products to multiply 2- and 3-digit numbers by 1-digit numbers.

Thursday's Maker's Hour-Bone Bridges
In this activity Students were challenged to build a bridge using Q-tips, clothes pins, pipe cleaners and tape.
Bring Hope Home 5K!
We smashed our 5K goal and helped to stomp out cancer! I was impressed to see all the students trying their best! Way to go fourth grade!
Hamilton was our classes winner with 51 (200 meters) laps!
Alex and Nathan also ran their 5K's at home!
