IN THE KNOW....Information to Plan by!

PLC's this week will be combined on Tuesday since I will be out of the building on Monday. Please bring your proposed student data tracking forms to your meeting for discussion and finalization for implementation when we return from break.

Tis the season to be silly....students and staff alike! ALL of us are ready for some time away to recharge the batteries!!! To celebrate the closing of the quarter before break, lets engage in a little fun! See the attached Spirt Week flyer...and it would be great if you participated in the activities next week!! (Sorry for all the exclamation points. I'm excited!!)

Our focus this quarter has been on the Gradual Release Model and its implementation in the classroom. I don't want us to forget about the work we have done around Guided Reading. At this point, we are in the quality phase of implementation, meaning we aren't working on the structure, but the quality of instruction. Teacher table should be students reading in books, at the same time, working on fluency and comprehension. I LOVE walking in and listening to your students READ!!!! Stations should be differentiated and skill aligned.

But....Gradual Release is not going away!! Reflect upon your lesson plans to show the intentionality....I CAN statements should directly align to the focus of that day's lesson outcome. I DO, WE DO should directly align with the strategy or skill you are modeling for the students. We will continue our PD around YOU DO/YOU DO when we return from break.

The building will be open over break daily between 8:00 am and 3:00 pm except for Christmas Day and New Year's Day. Remember...if you are the first one in the building, you will need to disarm the alarm and contact IPS PD at 4633. If you are the last one in the building, please make sure to do the IPS PD and let them know you are arming the building, the arm the alarm. This is to be done at door #2.
