SCHOOL ANNOUNCEMENTS
CURRENT 8TH GRADE FAMILIES:
This June Great Oaks is again offering summer career camps at each of our campuses. Every year the camps are different depending on which teachers are available. The offerings for this summer can be found on the website at www.greatoaks.com/camp . Registration is now open and accessed via the website. The cost is again $50 for a week of camp. - Attention Student Council members: There will be a meeting Monday morning during TT in room 14.
- March not only means basketball madness time but raising money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society through Pennies for Patients at LMS as well. Our goal this year is to raise $6,000. Several things are going on at school to help us reach this goal including a Tiger Time competition to win a pizza party, hot chocolate & donut sales, popcorn sales, a raffle, pie-a-teacher competition, and a visit from the Kona Ice trucks on March 19th, but you can also donate online using this link: https://events.lls.org/pages/soh/LovelandMiddleSchool-2020
We have two weeks left! Let's work together to eradicate blood related cancers and show our Tiger Generosity and Stewardship.
- Back by popular demand - Student Council will be selling hot chocolate and donuts on Thursday for $1.00 each. All proceeds benefit Pennies for Patients.
- Junior Police Academy- Ages 13-17; Free; Week of June 8-12; Miami Meadows Park (Milford); Includes breakfast and lunch; Fill out and return Application and release forms that are attached below
- Attention 8th Grade Parents of D.C. Travelers: There will be a mandatory pre-travel information meeting to be held on two dates: Monday, April 13th and Wed., April 15th from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the LIS Cafeteria. You only need to attend ONE of the meetings as the same information will be presented at both. If you cannot attend, you must see Ms. Rose in room 14 after April 8th to pick up the required paperwork. We will discuss travel information including the itinerary, logistics, medical procedures, etc. Should you have any questions, please email Ms. Rose at roseka@lovelandschools.org or Mrs. Pitcher at pitchetr@lovelandschools.org
- The application for next year's Innovation Lab (Tech Desk) is now open for rising 6th and 7th graders. The deadline is midnight on March 13th. The link can be found the Abre waffle named "LMS Innovation". Only successfully completed and submitted applications will be considered. In person interviews will be scheduled the week of March 16th.

- Bowling Club - If you are interested in joining the bowling club, see attached flyer.
- LMS Cheer Try-Outs: Mark your calendars for LMS cheer try-outs!! Mandatory clinics for the 7th and 8th grade LMS cheer squads will be on Wednesday, April 29th and Thursday April 30th from 2:30-4pm in the LMS gym, with try-outs on Friday, May 1st. Try-out times and groups will be determined at clinics. Cheer try-out applications and required paperwork will be available at the LMS circle desk and LIS office the week after spring break.
- LHS Cheer Try-Outs: Interested in trying out for Loveland High School cheerleading? LHS cheer try-outs will be on March 18th, with clinics on March 16th and March 17th from 7-9pm. Individual try-out times will be determined at clinics. If interested, cheerleaders must sign-up on Final Forms. It's listed as "LHS Coed Fall 2020 Cheer Tryouts" and is under Spring sports, since tryouts are in the spring. Be sure to "mark" this on Final Forms, so you are added to the tryout roster. Please see the attachment below regarding freshman try-outs.
