Mt. Carmel Elementary School
December 2018
The Semester is Coming to a Close!
It's hard to believe we are nearing the end of the first semester of this school year! Time flies, and it makes us realize it's important to make the most of every moment. With that in mind, please remember that attendance matters all the way through the last day of the semester. We have lots of things planned, and we want to have your child with us every day!
Holiday Shop: Students Shop for Family Members
On December 3-6, students will be able to buy affordable presents for those they love. Thanks to the PTA for providing this opportunity. Please send a little money to allow your child to shop for you. They love to give!

The Roller Coaster Has Arrived!
UAH Engineering students designed and manufactured a STEM marble roller coaster for Mt. Carmel students. The roller coaster is in house now and ready for STEM lessons in our classes. We appreciate our partnership with UAH! Thank you, Mrs. Dunning, for making this possible.
Enchanted Forest Book Fair was a great success!
Many thanks to Mrs. Dunning and her army of volunteers who made this important literacy event possible!
Thanks for your fundraising support!
Because our students received so much support with their cookie dough fundraiser, our student body met their sales goal and got to enjoy an incredible Dunk Show. These talented entertainers shared a message with our students about being nice to each other and always having a positive attitude!
Project Lead the Way
Our Project Lead the Way grant provides students with valuable STEM learning experiences. Students participate in engaging labs that encourage creative and critical thinking, build teamwork skills, and teach resilience in the face of challenges- very important 21st century skills!
