Morris Elementary School
Week of January 2nd
Hello Parents and Guardians,
Happy New Year! I extend my best wishes for a happy and healthy new year. We are delighted to welcome your children back on Tuesday, January 2nd. As we begin the new year, let's do our best to keep illnesses that we experienced before the break at bay. If your child is feeling unwell, we kindly ask that you keep them home to ensure a healthy environment for all. Please remember most grades go outside at least twice a day. I know we have experienced some mild temperatures in the month of December. Please make sure your child has the appropriate winter gear for recess hat, mittens, boots, and snow pants.
Thank you to Allegrone Construction and the Lenox Community Center. Allegrone Construction donated the popcorn machine and popcorn for our PBIS celebration. The LCC hosted our first grade students on Friday, December 22nd. The first grade students participated in their first math olympics. The picture to the right is, Ms.Shelhamer's and Ms.O'Brien's class along with our members of the Lenox police and fire department. The classes made holiday paper chain decorations and donated apples, oranges and eggnog as a thank you for all they do for our community.
I know many children are excited about the gifts they received over the holiday. Please remember there are no toys allowed at school. I would hate to see a toy broken or misplaced. Classroom teachers will communicate if they plan on having show n tell. I appreciate your cooperation.
Teddy's Pennies
In The New Year we will be collecting loose change and pennies for the Berkshire Humane Society. Ms. Shelhamer and Ms. O'Brien's class will be counting up the coins with their "Buddies".❤️
