What a Valentine's Dance!! Thank You To All Parents and Staff That Helped With the Planning, Setup, Serving and Clean Up of the Event!!!



We would like to recognize and congratulate the members of the 2019 Pleasant Union Elementary First In Fitness Team. These athletes compete at the Northern Area First In Fitness event on March 13 at Southeast Raleigh High School. First In Fitness is a fun and friendly elementary fitness competition where are students will compete against students from other Northern Area Wake County Schools who are in their grade and same gender. Selections for this team are based on physical fitness testing performance during physical education class, maintain a positive attitude and appropriate behavior in all of their classes, as well as maintaining academic performance throughout the year. It is a privilege to be a member of the Pleasant Union First In Fitness Team and the staff and administration are very proud and excited for your child. Questions regarding First In Fitness team and/or the event should be directed to Mr. Stern, PE Specialist.

Thank You to Parents that contributed Staff Appreciation Luncheon All 2nd Grade Tracks 2 & 4 Parents!! Our staff so appreciates our parent thoughtfulness and generosity. Thanks to Valerie DeBruin, Rachael Paden, Denise Brown for the luncheon set up and all the parents that contributed to the appreciation luncheon.

Cultural Arts Event On Monday:

"The Beast" will be providing a variety of musical genres in a fun and interactive concert at 9:30 and 10:30. K-2 will start at 9:30 and 3-5 at 10:30. Track 2 students are welcome to join us with your parents.

PTA Meeting:

The February PTA Meeting will be held in the Media Center on Tuesday, February 19 at 8:15.

Have your linked or re-linked your Harris Teeter VIC Card to benefit the Pleasant Union Elementary PTA. We received approximately $4,000 last year from Harris Teeter rewards & we have received $165 to date for the current school year. NOTE: These links have to be renewed each year! It is super easy! Recorders Available at School Store:

When needed, Recorders are now available for our Fourth Grade Music students! Cost is $5. Place your order on line at: and they will be delivered to your student's classroom or come visit the school store on Mondays and Wednesdays. Mrs Freer will also have some available for purchase during her class time.


Mrs. Coleman Wins the Fall Boxtop Contest

Ms. Coleman’s class celebrates with a silly string party for winning the Fall Box Tops contest.



Pleasant Union will be holding a Food Drive for Wake Relief from February 25th through March 22nd ! Every morning during arrival time there will be a table in the front lobby with eager students waiting to take, organize, and record your donations! Wake Relief will take any non-perishable items you would like to donate but below there is a list of items they are always in need of and can use:

  • Tuna, Chicken, Lunchmeat
  • Green Beans, Beans, Green Peas, Mixed Vegetables (Carrots or Spinach),Corn
  • Toilet Paper, Bar Soap, Detergent
  • Misc. Items Cereal, Grits, Mac & Cheese, Crackers, Pasta Noodles, 1 Pound Bags of Rice, Soup, Fruit, Peanut Butter, Boxed Milk

Again, please feel free to donate any non-perishables that you can think of.

Save the Date: Spring Fling on Sunday, March 31st

Save the Date!!! The 2nd Annual PUE Spring Fling will be held on Sunday, March 31st, from 2pm-5pm. Thank you to all parents that came out for the planning meeting this past Thursday and for volunteering to help with making this a successful event.
