Third Grade PACE
FEED YOUR BRAIN
READY, SET, LEARN!
Our adventure together this year is taking off. The third graders got a chance to think outside of the box and choose one item to be stranded with in the wilderness for our main bulletin board. If you're ever in our hallway, take a peek at what the students said they'd bring along. We also got a chance to take on a STEM challenge and create a catapult for our Army men. It took a lot of engineering and patience to create a wondrous contraption! With so much hard work and creativity in these back to school activities, I can't wait to see what this year holds for us. Here's to learning lots and having fun along the way!
TOO COOL FOR SCHOOL
Showing off our dabbing skills because that's how we roll!
FLEXIBLE LEARNING
Comfy and cozy make the creativity flow better. Flexible learning environments are the best!
Picture Perfect
Becoming one with nature. Our bulletin board is going to be out of this world!
Creative Juices are Flowing
Creating the item we'd bring out in the wilderness for either survival, escape, or to signal for help!
Craft Cart
Supplies at our fingertips- what dreams are made of!
Classroom Craze
The energy level is high and so is the creativity level!
Challenge Accepted
Creating a catapult that launched an army man across the room would be difficult. But we've got grit so nothing can stop us from getting the job done!
Making the Mark
Geronimo! Crossing our fingers that our guy flies high and flies far!
Getting comfy
Would a different launching position give us extra luck? It's worth a try!
Test Run
First trial run. Time to measure and see if our army men went the distance. Before the second trial run, there's time to adjust, redesign, and modify our creations.
Extras
Don't forget- hand comfort is key so adding a soft grip is a bonus!
Ready, Set, FIRE AWAY!
We each got two attempts at the final run. The first was to get accustomed to our catapult devices and the second one was to go for the gold!
Attitude is Everything
Near or far...here or there...no matter where our guys landed we still had fun learning about angles and power.
Crafty and Creative
Making a catapult resting station is a handy way to store your mechanism when not in use!
Nimble with Numbers
Measuring the distance the army man traveled was quite a task but it doesn't hurt to use some left over supplies (like a popsicle stick) to keep track of where you're at!
WISH LIST
Please take a look at the items on our wish list. If you'd like to make a donation to PACE, your child will receive a spirit stick for every item bought. Thank you for helping us stock our class with supplies that will promote a rich learning environment!
