CHPS Students Present to MN State Senate

This week, three CHPS students presented to the Minnesota State Senate Education Finance Committee about their school experience since returning to in-person learning, the barriers they have faced, and their suggestions for what the committee should do to support our schools. We are so proud of Lidya Kennedy (CHHS Senior), Anita Pettway (NPSfI 3rd grader) and Abraham Ziemet (NPSfI 3rd grader) for using their voices to speak for education and representing our district.

YMCA Youth in Government Conference

Seven students from CHHS went to the YMCA Youth in Government Conference from January 5-8, 2023. Youth in Government is a hands-on civic learning program where students in grades 8-12 become legislators, lawyers, judges, lobbyists, the media, or cabinet members and spend four days running a state model government in the Capitol Complex.

Attendance Matters!!

With the new year, CHPS wants to join with all families in making a resolution to increase attendance and arrive at school on time! We will be sending out regular information about the value for students and for classrooms in attending regularly. We all benefit from getting into routines and attending on time and daily helps individual students and the whole classroom get into the grove of learning and thriving together! The state wants us to be at 91% attendance every day so help us reach that goal!
