COVID Isolation/Quarantine Timelines

Last week, I mentioned that the CDC had issued new guidance regarding school isolation and quarantine time lines and that we would be reviewing those recommendations and issuing notice of any changes for our school. After consultation with school administrators, the Return to Learn Plan Committee and School Board, we have adopted the following changes for school related isolations and quarantines effective immediately:

  • COVID Positives: Isolation from school/activities for 5 calendar days. May return on day 6 if symptom free or fever free for at least 24 hours and symptoms have diminished. The wearing of a well fitting mask is recommended upon return for an additional 5 calendar days.
  • Close Contacts (NON-HOUSEHOLD): Quarantine from school/activities for 5 calendar days. EXCEPTION - No quarantine is required if close contact is NOT symptomatic and agrees to wear a well fitting mask for 5 calendar days while at school/activities.
  • HOUSEHOLD Close Contact (someone living with/caring for someone in the same home who has tested positive and cannot isolate): Quarantine from school/activities for 5 calendar days. May return on day 6 if symptom free or fever free for at least 24 hours and symptoms have diminished. The wearing of a well fitting mask is recommended upon return for an additional 5 calendar days.

These are the basic changes. More information is provided, including possible exemptions, within the Bulldogger Back to School Plan which can be accessed by clicking the button below.

Staff and students affected by school related COVID isolations and/or quarantines during the week of January 3-10 will be contacted with new return dates.

Thank you.
