October Pumpkin Character Challenge
Are you ready for some October pumpkin fun?
1) Select a book you have read or want to read.
2) Choose one character from the story to focus on.
3) Create this character using a pumpkin. Please be sure the pumpkin is small enough to carry to school. You may decorate it, glue things on it, carve it, or paint it! Be creative!
4) Please write your name and teacher’s name on the bottom of your pumpkin (preferably in Sharpie) and bring your pumpkin to the HES Library for display!
5) Please bring your pumpkins in between October 18th-31st. Email cmaccullough@mtplcsd.org with any questions.
Important things to remember:
Everyone who participates will get a certificate, but no prizes will be awarded.
Unfortunately, due to the number of pumpkins we receive and due to the fact that some of them start to decompose, we can’t return the pumpkins to their owners.
You may bring in your pumpkin anytime between October 18th and the 31st! They will be displayed in the library.
Physical Education and Health News
We are so excited to announce that during physical education classes on Monday, we will be out on the playground instructing students on usage of the equipment. The playground will be open for recess on Tuesday. Hooray!
Throughout the month of September students in PE were busy learning routines and engaged in movement activities. They practiced moving in shared space safely while playing games consisting of walking, galloping, skipping, and jogging.
We started our tagging and bean bag unit this month. Some of our famous tagging games are Dinosaur tag, Jurassic Park tag, Bee tag, Fire and Ice tag, Sharks and Dolphins tag, Pokémon tag, and Toy Story tag.
We are underway with our Wellness Wednesdays! Safety is our first unit. Students learned about bus safety, fire safety, and playground safety. Next up is bike safety, and Halloween safety.
STEM Lab--Eclipse Alert
