From the Principal
What a great day we had last Friday hosting the Jonty Carran Memorial Tackle 10s. It was great to see over 350 rugby players giving it their all and trying their very best. Thank you to everyone who helped out on the day running the BBQ and canteen. Also, a big thank you to all the staff, coaches and volunteers that helped out to set up the fields and tidy up after the event. We are looking forward to hosting this again in 2023.
Staffing Changes
Next year we have a new teacher joining our team. Lauren Colyer has been appointed as a classroom teacher replacing Christina McDonald who has accepted a position at another school in Invercargill. We wish Christina all the best with her new school and we thank her for the great work she has put into teaching in the Year 5/6 class.
Class Structure 2023
Below is a run down of where what year groups our staff will be teaching in 2023. Over the next few years you will be seeing changes within our staffing structure with staff moving around the year groups with more frequency. This is not only great progressional growth for our staff but also gives us more flexibility when looking at the needs of different cohorts of students.

It’s that time of the year again where I am recalling all the books to the library for the end of year stocktake. If your child has a library book at home please have it returned to school as soon as possible. If the students have lost or damaged books there will be a set charge of $20 per book added to your account.

ROOM 6
We had a few days last week that we had absolutely everyone in Room 6 at school, which has not been the case for most of the school year. It’s great that everyone is well and we took a silly whole class photo to celebrate everyone being together. Last Friday was an absolutely special, fabulous day with the Jonty Carran tackle tens, a free sausage from Bunnings, Mr Whippy and a magic show in the afternoon. The magician was very clever, doing some amazing magic tricks as well as teaching us about the food groups and how important it is to eat healthy. This week we have been working hard, having fun and getting out and enjoying the sunshine as much as possible.
