Washington School News!
Thanks to all of the 4K families that were able to join us for Family Game Night! What a great turn out! I have included some pictures from the event below.
Please read over the information regarding the new Raptor visitor check-in/out system that our district will be implementing beginning January 22nd. You MUST show an ID in order to be allowed in the school building, beyond the office.
We would also like to use the Raptor system as a way to check in and out students who arrive late or need to leave early. Please remember that this does not replace our new background check policy for any classroom volunteers. You must still fill out a background check form, and be cleared by the district, to volunteer in our building or classrooms.
There is NO SCHOOL tomorrow, Monday, January 21, due to a Professional Learning Day for our staff.
See you Tuesday!
Thank you!
Ms. Stacie Brethouwer
Principal

Referendum Informational Meeting and Open Houses Scheduled
Information about the Neenah Joint School District’s upcoming facilities referendum will be presented during a meeting at Washington School. This date and time will be available soon. Superintendent Dr. Mary Pfeiffer will be in attendance to provide background and answer questions about the $129.5 million referendum that will be voted upon by District residents on April 2.
There will also be public open houses on February 20 at Shattuck, March 6 at Neenah High School and March 20 at Shattuck. All open houses begin at 6 p.m. Please consider attending any of these upcoming meetings to learn more about the facilities plans for our District.
New Visitor System-ID required!
Visitors to all Neenah Joint School District buildings will be required to present identification during the school day beginning on January 22. The District will be implementing the “Raptor” school safety software program. The system was funded through a Wisconsin Department of Justice school safety grant awarded last fall.
The new check-in system runs the visitor’s photo ID through a security check prior to the visitor being allowed access into the building during the school day. The system will print out a visitor ID badge and create a digital visitor’s log. If the background check raises any concerns, an administrator will be summoned to address the concern. It is also important for visitors to check out through the main entryway to return their badges.
This system is in addition to the volunteer background check process that was recently put in place throughout the District.
Visitors must present identification such as a driver’s license or passport that shows their name, birthdate and photo. Thank you for your cooperation in helping to enhance the safety in our schools.
