ENSC Parent Notes

ENSC Facebook Page

An East Noble School Corporation Facebook page has been started. The primary purpose of the page is to place updates and news "blurbs" as an additional way to keep parents and the community informed. The page is not set up to build "friends" but rather to use the "Likes" for followers. I am NOT a Facebook pro or big fan, but the page does add another dimension for distribution of ENSC information.

If you have a Facebook page, your promotion of the East Noble School Corporation page is appreciated! The more followers we collect, the more people who have a better understanding of "who we are, what we do, and what we value."

East Noble Middle School Meetings

Understanding that not all people were able to attend the evening ENMS meetings that were held, a day time meeting has been set up. That meeting will be Monday, December 16, 9 a.m. at ENMS. There will be discussion about the middle school and a tour to those who are interested.

Last Monday was the YMCA Board and Tuesday was the Rotary Club. Both of the groups were interested in learning more about the middle school and what lies ahead. During a tour of the building with the Rotary Club, the group was given a deeper understanding of the history of the building by two special tour guides. Dave and Deb Hockley, who both taught at the middle school before their retirements, attended the tour and provided their unique stories and perspectives. They were able to see their old rooms and the changes to the office area. Thank you both for sharing your stories and experiences.

Super Hero of the Week

This week’s superhero of the week is Mr. Larry Holbrook, head custodian at South Side Elementary School. Larry is the first person in the building every day—working long hours to make sure our school is a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for children to learn. His background in law enforcement is a tremendous asset for us as Larry serves on our school Safety and Crisis Team and makes routine building sweeps daily, checking for unlocked doors or other potential risks in our building. Larry’s diligence in monitoring energy conservation has put South Side at the very top of the district in percentage of cost avoidance, funneling more dollars where they matter most—quality instruction for our students. He is readily available to answer a call from any staff member regarding a wide range of issues to be solved, from roof leaks and broken hinges to hunting down needed items from storage. He has even covered recess duty! Now that’s a super hero!
