Students and teachers can access several databases through our own lion.dpsk12.org website.
Teachers: to log on you will enter your last name and your 9 digit employee number.
Students: to log on you will enter your last name and 6 digit student ID number (lunch number).

You can easily access hundreds of books at your fingertips.
Search OverDrive for your favorite titles.
OverDrive hosts the central DPS collection of ebooks & audiobooks for all grade levels. OverDrive can be accessed on any device, using any browser, as well as by using their mobile app. There are over 20,000 titles in the main collection, and schools can purchase additional materials for their students.
The picture below is an example of a couple books you can check out electronically. The black circle with the black book means it is available for check out. If the circle and book are grey, all copies are currently checked out. The headphone symbol means you can listen to this book.
Open 24/7 and you can access it for the comfort of your own couch!
Good databases for many topics include: CQ Researcher, Points of View, or Gale Virtual Reference Library
You will need a library card for these databases.
Teachers and Students can access reference support for Denver Public Library 24/7.

Are you familiar with Kanopy? You can access hundreds of videos for FREE through the DPL!

OUR PODCAST ROOM IS UP AND RUNNING. STUDENTS CAN CREATE PODCASTS ABOUT A MULTITUDE OF SUBJECTS. LET'S DICUSS WAYS TO INCORPORATE THESE BROADCASTS INTO YOUR CURRICULUM.

Manual Reading Partners connects community volunteers with students to read together for one hour per week a book that the student chooses. See Julie Malek for information if you are interested.
