The History of the Tower

The John Hancock Tower was created by I.M Pei and partners. It was designed by Henry N. Cobb and partners. In 1967 they showed a model to Governor John Volpe. He approved the design and 10 years later it was completed. It opened in 1976.

WHY IT FAILED

The tower was unstable the people on the top floors were getting motion sickness. The tower was swaying in the wind. There is another problem the windows were falling and smashing hundreds of feet below.
