Bobcat PLCs
Principal Den
On Thursday, we will have our first Vertical Team PLC of the school year. If you are unsure which PLC you are a part of, please look at the list that is taped to the cabinets in the mail room. Our PLC groups are Math, Reading, Writing, Science, Social Studies and Co-Curr. Everyone already has access to the agendas. Math & Reading PLC groups will also utilize the TEKS Scaffolding document as well. They are in our Staff Shared folder in the Bobcat PLC/Focus Groups Notes.
The purpose of our Bobcat PLC/Monthly Vertical Team Meetings is to provide time for teachers to delve deeper into the TEKS and examine TEKS in the prior and coming grade level. This helps teachers differentiate for students who have gaps, and enrich for students who are already proficient. We all feel pressure to provide best instructional strategies that include the rigor that is embedded in the TEKS. Vertical Teams are a natural way to strengthen our understanding of the TEKS in a comfortable, collaborative way.
What do you and your team want to accomplish? What do you want to focus on together? You and your Bobcat PLC team members will lead the conversation and take notes on the created agendas.
EVERYONE will need to bring their computer to the meeting so you have access to the agenda and to the TEKS.
A Message from Lindsay Anderson -
I want to express my appreciation for the many staff members who attended our "Teacher Care" sessions and participated in the discussion on one of our core values. At this point, I am working to synthesize the many ideas, meeting with various district departments, and working with your campus principals. Be looking for future emails to weigh in on where we want to focus our efforts, energy, and attention. More to come!
Field Day on Friday
Weather: We are hoping for a crisp, dry fall day. If the weather does not cooperate,
we will either use our “rainy day” field day plan (indoors) OR postpone Field Day until
Friday, 9/26. This decision will depend on the vendors we are using for some of our
events. Any decision regarding a postponement would be
communicated ASAP.
