Covid Academic Support Plan
Freshman Center Families,
The educational experience during the first nine weeks of school has been difficult for many reasons. In an effort to assist our students who have experienced challenges related to learning while away from school, (any student- either virtual or Silver/Blue Team) our school has adopted a Covid-19 Academic Support Plan (CASP) for the 1st 9 Weeks Grading Period. The 1st 9 Weeks ends on Friday, October 9, 2020; grades will post to Report Cards to go live in INOW on Wednesday, October 14, 2020. However, ALL students will be provided an opportunity to submit any missing assignments from the 1st 9 Weeks until Friday, October 30, 2020 for half credit.
It is our hope that students take advantage of this academic support plan. Please contact the FFC Front Office at 256.768.2400 if you have any questions or concerns.
5 Days a Week Schedule
Florence High School, Florence Freshmen Center, and Florence Middle School will return to a five-day-a-week schedule on Monday, October 12, 2020. If you choose face-to-face instruction, it will be five days a week in grades 7-12, beginning Monday, October 12, 2020.
If you choose to participate in virtual school, you can choose so at any time during the year. Please reach out to your guidance counselor or school administration if you have a student that wishes to have instruction virtually.
