FHS RISE Weekly Update
Week of Sept. 18
Below you will find the the weekly email from Mr. Lyons. I will be contacting parents individually with concerns about students behind the Blue Line of Death. Keep encouraging them to stay on top of their goals!
Rise Families,
Parents,
The first quarter of school is coming to an end soon. Your student has probably already turned in or should have turned in projects in most classes. The following will give you an explanation about grading in Summit. The first 6 week Progress Report will come out Wed. Sept. 20th. This will be a snapshot of where your student is in Summit and their other classes that day. So if they have not turned in a project by the due date or they are being the BLoD, they are incomplete which is considered failing. Their grades are based on the following information. If you have questions, please let me know.

Wednesday- Generation Day
Thursday- Thug or Frat Day

The Parade will step out at 1:00 Friday Sept 29th (Still need convertibles for Homecoming Court, contact Anne.Edelen@frankfort.kyschools.us if you know of one).
There will be a Pep Rally at the Football field following the parade. The Homecoming game will be at 7:30 Friday night and the Homecoming Dance will be Saturday night at the FHS Cafe, from 9-12. FHS students who present their school ID get in free, otherwise students and guest cost $5.00. If a student is bringing an out of school guest, they must fill out a guest Dance Request form, found in the office. These forms must be turned into the office before Friday Sept 29.
ESS
If your student is behind the Blue line in a class, having problems with a project, or needs someone to explain a focus area to them, then they should be planning on staying for ESS. Your student should ask their teachers when they stay for ESS and plan on staying with them. There will be an ESS Bus that can take them home on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, if needed. So there should be no excuses for your student not getting the help they need. And a bonus to attending is that they will receive a PAW from their ESS teacher for attending the whole ESS time from after school till 4:00. So make sure you are helping your student to plan on staying for ESS.
PAWS
The PAWS that your student is earning and sticking to the back of their ID should be adding up! They will earn your ORANGE ID when you get 25 Paws on their White Badge. There will be a REWARD EVENT for all students who are ORANGE after FALL BREAK! So encourage them to keep earning PAWS. They can earn PAWS for: Being Green in Summit, Setting Goals, Participation in extracurricular activities, Good Attendance, Good Behavior, Attending FHS Events, Attending ESS and Wearing Orange and Blue on Fridays! SO there is still time to COLOR UP and Take advantage of the privileges it gives them! GOLD CARD HOLDERS from last year MUST be colored up by the end of the quarter to keep their GOLD status. GOLD CARDS are the goal for all students, and will earn them additional privileges at FHS.
