From the Principal
Today Santa visited our campus and took class pictures with every homeroom. Students enjoyed seeing him and taking part in this time. If you purchased pictures, our PBIS team will be working to get them printed and sent home prior to the holiday break. Thank you for your support of our PBIS endeavors.
Just a reminder there are no lunch visitors the week of December 17-21, 2018 and January 7-11, 2019. This time helps us prepare for holiday parties in December and work to get students transitioned back to school after a break in January. I appreciate your understanding.
Holiday parties are set at varying times on December 21. Just a reminder each student can have only two visitors, this includes non-aged school siblings. Also, please no strollers at the parties. The visitor limit and no strollers best practices are due to space limits. Please remember December 21st is an instructional day. Students may not participate in a sibling's Winter Party event at Hoover or Jowell. This district procedure includes elementary, middle school, and high school-aged siblings. Please note that if a student is not in attendance on December 21st, or has been signed out early, he/she may not return to any campus to attend a sibling's event. If you pre-registered for winter parties, you will be able to use our Express Check-in. Tables will be arranged by last names (A-L and M-Z). Please go to the table for your last name, present a valid ID and you will receive a school-issued badge for the event. If you did not pre-register will need to go to the front office for check- in. Please be prepared for lines. For everyone’s safety, visitors are not permitted into the instructional area without a badge.

Picture Retakes Wednesday 12/12/18
Fall Picture Retake day is coming up Wednesday December 12, 2018.
This is for:
• Newly enrolled students (enrolled after 11/18/18)
• Students that were absent on original picture day 11/18/18
• Students that purchased a package and would like a new picture taken (they need to go to the camera with original package)
If this is your student, please send them to school camera ready 12/12/18. If they ordered pictures on 11/18/18, please send the pictures to school with your student on 12/12/18.

We are so excited to announce the launch of WATCH D.O.G.S. (Dads of Great Students) at Hoover Elementary! This exciting event will take place in our school cafeteria on Tuesday, January 8th, 2019 at 6:00 PM. We invite all Dads’ and/or male guardians to attend this event! Food will be served to those in attendance. Mr. Talley will present a small presentation about the program and provide Dads’ and/or male guardians the opportunity to sign up for a specific date for the upcoming semester!
