WHAT'S HAPPENING IN OUR CLASSROOMS?
Þ English I: Students will write a compare/contrast essay in class this week. Summer Reading Assignment is due on 9/20.
Þ English II: ELA II students will continue their reading and analysis of The Epic of Gilgamesh!
Þ English III: Students will continue our study of A Raisin in the Sun and film analysis.
Þ ENGL 1301 (Gillespie): Students will analyze media sources dealing with the topic of education while starting to plan their Education Synthesis Podcast.
Þ ENGL 1301 (Shepard): Students will identify rhetorical appeals in historical speeches.
Þ ENGL 2322: Students will continue to read, analyze, and discuss "Beowulf" while planning their own original epic poem selection.
Þ Business English (Gillespie): Students will form SLC groups and begin planning and research.
Þ Business English (Shepard): Students will choose their SLC projects and will be placed on a team to begin the project!
Þ Algebra I: We begin our lesson on linear functions.
Þ Algebra II (Nguyen): We begin our lesson on linear functions.
Þ Algebra II (Polley): In Algebra II students will Solve Absolute Value Equations.
Þ Geometry (Polley): In Geometry students will Use Special Geometric Tools to Make Congruent Figures.
Þ College Algebra:
Þ Pre-Calculus: Students will use a graph to determine where a function is increasing, decreasing, or constant.
Þ AP Calculus: Students will find a derivative presented graphically, numerically and analytically.
Þ Biology: Students will learn about Cell structure and cell transport
Þ BIOL 1306: Students will learn about cell structure and cell transport
Þ Chemistry: Students will be differentiating among element/ compound and mixtures. They will design methods to separate mixtures.
Þ CHEM 1311: Students will practice to convert mole to ,mass and particles and vice versa. They will be able to find EF and MF from the given %age composition of compounds.
Þ Physics: Students will graph and analyze their data collected the week prior.
Þ Science Research & Design:
Þ AP Human Geography: This (short) week in APHuG, your student will be wrapping up Unit 1 with a Pop Quiz. Not to fret, it will be open note. They will also be learning how to properly write an FRQ (Free response question).
Þ AP World History: This week students will understand how, after the collapse of classical empires, new political, economic, and social systems evolved and expanded.
Þ AP US History: This week students will understand how, in the 17th Century early British colonies developed along the Atlantic coast with regional differences that reflected various factors.
Þ Government: This (short) week in Government, your student will be dissecting the Preamble of the Constitution and begin to work through the meat of Article 1, the Legislative Branch.

Þ Chinese II: Student will be able to describe what color they like and clothes they are wearing.

Þ Chinese 1412 (Dual Credit): Student will be able to make their own short funny comics story.
Þ Chinese IV: Student will be able to do the basic cooking for suan la tang.
Þ AP Chinese Language and Culture: Students will be able to analyze the transportation announcements.
Þ Spanish I: Students will express what do they like to do in different situations.
Þ Spanish II: Students will express what do they like to do in different situations.
Þ AP Computer Science Principles: Explain the challenges of creating a clear set of rules for ordering patterns.
Þ EDUC 1300: Apply knowledge of learning to adapt to various classroom environments.
Þ Graphic Design: Intro to Retouching Tools in Photoshop. Continue GMetrix modules - “Crop and Straighten Photos” – “Save and Export." Make sure you can download the necessary Adobe products for Graphics class.

Þ PE: Students will combine two sports to play scooter soccer.

Þ Career Prep I: Students will be introduced to their Senior Capstone Project and set-up their accounts on the Applied Education System.
Þ Project Based Research: Students will be introduced to the Career Project and explore various positions aligning with their career interest.
