Celebrate!
Last Thursday, during our House Assembly, we celebrated our motto: “Do Good Work, Be a Friend, Everyday.” We started with a parade featuring each House (Wolf, Moose, Polar Bear, and Raven) and ended in the Gym for final events. Lots of team spirit, lots of fun, in short, we celebrated.
Everyday your child works hard learning their grade-level state standards and so much more. During the past weeks, I have had the pleasure of observing classrooms as part of teacher evaluations. I see the energy and time devoted towards each child and marvel at the effort put forth by all.
After all this schoolwork, it is good to celebrate. We laughed at jokes and yelled for our Houses to win at fun competitions. Students connected with one another and got to see their teachers in a new light. The winning House was announced and bragging rights are theirs for the next month.
There is much that happens at school. Being excited about school is fuel for the tough work of learning. Do ask your child about their daily experiences and let me know if we need to do more towards making school an exciting place to learn.

Meet our Instructional Coach!
Hello,
My name is Debby Foster and I am very fortunate to be the Title I Instructional Coach at Arctic Light Elementary School! My husband and I are both lifelong Fairbanksans, we are both in the field of education and we have 2 sons, Logan and Austin. This is my 28th year in the teaching field and all of my experiences have been in Ft. Wainwright schools, and we have the most amazing students! As an Instructional Coach, I work right alongside classroom teachers to find ways to foster academic growth and student achievement. Our goal is to assist your child in reaching their fullest potential. Thank you for partnering with us on this goal because we really are better when we work together. If I can be of any assistance to you please do not hesitate to contact me. Thank you! Mrs. Foster (356-2038 ext. 28017.)
