Math
This week we officially start Module 2. All module 1 tests and retakes should be updated in PowerSchools by the end of the week- I am so impressed with all the hard work and grades that I have seen so far! Module 2 covers multi-digit multiplication and division using the area model and standard algorithm. We will continue only having exit tickets due daily- but students are more than welcome to finish their problem sets for additional practice. As always, please continue to reach out if you have additional questions or concerns. I'm excited for another great week!

Science
Students should have submitted their planet research project last week. I am very impressed with the presentations. There is a rubric attached to the assignment so students can see why they might not have gotten full points in specific areas. This week in science our essential question is "What are the distinguishing features of asteroids, comets, and meteors and how can we use those characteristics to identify objects in space?" We will begin the week by exploring meteor and meteor showers. Then we will investigate asteroids and comets. At the end of the week we will take a quiz over what we have learned.

Online Learning
Students should be checking their grades weekly. If they have missing assignments they need to check in with the teachers during office hours (2:05-2:45) to discuss how they can get caught up. Any missing assignments can still be submitted until the end of the quarter. Our RTI and small group time has been developed to help support the students so it's important that they go the their RTI class and show up for small groups. This will help students be more successful.
