How to Earn College Credit
How do KMHS Students Earn College Credit from PLTW Courses?
KMHS students successfully completing PLTW courses may apply for transcripted credit from St. Cloud State University (SCSU). The student will receive three college credits, per course, subject to the following conditions:
1. All requirements from the PLTW course must be satisfied, and the student must achieve an 80% or better for both of the two-quarter courses.
2. The PLTW end-of-course exam must be taken and passed.
3. The required fee of $100 must be paid.
4. Grade of S (pass) appears on the St. Cloud State University transcript.
What PLTW Courses Can Earn Transcripted College Credit from SCSU?
The following KMHS Project Lead the Way (PLTW) courses for which St. Cloud State University may be received are the following:
- Introduction to Engineering and Design (IED)
- Principles of Engineering (POE)
KMHS PLTW Biomedical Courses:
- Principles of Biomedical Sciences (PBS)
- Human Body Systems (HBS)
- Medical Interventions
How Do I Register for the SCSU Transcripted College Credit?
1. Pick up the registration form from the PLTW Teacher or the KMHS Guidance Office.
2. The "Student Section" on the PLTW form must be filled out by the student and brought to his/her PLTW teacher.
3. The PLTW Teacher fills out the "Instructor/Course Information" and gives back to student.
4. Student mails form and payment to SCSU.
