Not Only Did You Survive, You Thrived!!
There are two things I wanted to mention this week. As you know, the SBIC met yesterday and worked on developing new belief statements and a new mission statement. The committee worked diligently in this task and did a fantastic job! Kristen did an excellent job of providing information to the committee that helped drive the process. Thanks to all who participated in the SBIC. The updated information is below.
MISSION STATEMENT
The Bethany community values the lifelong learning of each child by supporting individual social, emotional, ethical, and academic development.
BELIEF STATEMENTS
Collaborative relationships between school, home, and community are essential to maximize student success.
We believe that our students deserve an atmosphere of continual, social, emotional, ethical and academic growth.
We believe that embracing cultural and individual diversity enhances learning and fosters harmony within our community.
We believe in developing students who value their own abilities and take ownership of their learning.
We believe in preparing students for evolving technology by utilizing research-based instructional practices.
Please take a few minutes to review the recommendations from the SBIC and share any comments or suggestions you have with Kristen or me.
The next item of discussion is meant for me. Let me start off with I am very guilty in this area and will do better!! With that being said, we need to review radio etiquette. Each of our teams have radios that are meant to be used in communication with the office, team members, or others in the building. Their purpose is to notify, inform, and provide quick communication between individuals relating to events that are immediately occurring on campus. Unfortunately, I have set a bad example and used the radio to joke around or have drawn out interactions with staff members. If these conversations need to occur (or if we want them to occur), please switch to a different channel then our main channel. Remember, what we say on the radio can be heard at a minimum by all the Bethany students and staff. Please remember to make all comments on channel 12 short and necessary for the safety of students. Switch channels for all the other conversations if they are needed. I apologize for my poor example in this area and will do better!
There is never enough time to tell you each how much I appreciate the great job you do with kids. You should hear that from my individually each day. You gals and guys are rock stars! Thanks for making a difference in the lives of our students!!
