Principal's Message
Dear VBCS Families,
As Thanksgiving approaches, it is natural for us to feel a great appreciation for all that is special in our lives. No words can ever express the gratitude to our military and their families for the sacrifices they have endured in representing and defending our country. So, please join us on Veterans’ Day and every other day, as we extend a big THANK YOU to our military heroes!

Meet the Teacher
Coach T
Hi everyone, I am extremely excited about the opportunity to be your teacher for Physical Education. My introduction to physical fitness began at a young age first with youth intramural/recreation leagues, and last as a collegiate athlete at San Diego State University where I received a full athletic scholarship to play football. Under the tutelage of expert trainers and coaches at SDSU, I learned the nuances of physical fitness, nutrition and health in order to meet peak performance physically, as well as the fundamentals for general health and fitness.
After graduating from college, I pursued further education through a personal training certification From ACE (American Council of Exercise), so I could continue helping others meet their physical fitness goals. Once I completed my certification, I began class instruction and personal training at UFC Gym and began competing as a professional MMA fighter. After several years at UFC Gym and MMA competition, I transferred to Encinitas Boxing, where I still currently work. This is where I began teaching numerous kids fitness classes and it inspired me to pursue a career in physical education where I can develop physical fitness, nutrition, and overall healthy lifestyles for our emerging youth.
Since then, I have enrolled in a Single Subject Credential program at National University to teach PE. At home I enjoy doing martial arts, playing sports like football and basketball, and cooking. Additionally, I enjoy spending time with my fiancé, Erin, and our two beautiful boys, Troy and Tyee.
Community and Culture
Cupeno Language Instruction
With the continued support of the Pala Band of Mission Indians VBCS has begun Cupeno Language instruction on site. All VBCS students (K-5) are now receiving weekly Cupeno Language instruction under the direction of Ms. Anna Rameshaw. Ms. Rameshaw does an excellent job providing the students native language instruction utilizing fun and engaging methods. Her use of music in particular, is an outstanding instructional strategy to introduce students to new Cupeno vocabulary. Needless to say, student excitement and engagement is through the roof. VBCS greatly values this opportunity to introduce our students to their Native language.
