Powell Publisher
Week of December 9-13, 2019
A Note From Mrs. Garrison
Thank you to the Powell PTO and the volunteers who provided lunch for the Powell teachers and staff. We thoroughly enjoyed it!
We have had an overwhelming response to our request for volunteers for the Annual Interfaith Holiday Food Drive and first-ever PTO Holiday Jingle Jam. We still have a few slots to fill and would love to have you join us for this fun event. Please check the Sign Up Genius below for times. We could really use your help!

GOTR coaches needed for the spring!
Girls on the Run fall season just finished and we are looking forward to the spring season. We are in need of a few more coaches for the spring. If you are interested in finding out about how to become a GOTR coach please email Pam Owens at powens@conroeisd.net.
Nominations for Gifted and Talented Testing
Nominations are now open for Conroe ISD Gifted and Talented program. Although the testing will not take place until the end of January, nominations are accepted from October 1- December 19th. Nominations can be made by the parents and/or teachers. It is recommended that parents of 2nd grade students wait until CogAT scores have arrived before nominating their child because CogAT scores are part of the GT assessment. If you are interested in nominating your child, you may want to discuss this with your child’s teacher at conferences. Nominations will be accepted no later than December 19, 2019. Please see the attachment for the nomination form and submit it to our GT coordinator, Sarah Radford at sradford@conroeisd.net. Paper forms can also be turned into the front office.
