WSD BOARD MEETING REPORT

The Wentzville School District Board of Education held a workshop on Tuesday, March 15, 2022. They also held a meeting on Thursday, March 17, that was live-streamed via the District YouTube channel and can be viewed by visiting the WSD on YouTube. Preliminary Budget Report
Rick Angevine, chief financial officer, presented the preliminary 2022-2023 budget to the Board. View it here.
Preliminary Tax Rate
The Board reviewed the preliminary tax rate, which was also presented by Rick Angevine, chief financial officer, and will take action on it at the next Board meeting. View the presentation here.
Wentzville School Board of Education
It’s School Board Appreciation Week month! Communities across the state are honoring the dedicated service of their local boards of education this month. Here in the WSD, each school created a banner thanking our Board of Education. We are grateful for their time and efforts on behalf of all students, staff, and stakeholders in the WSD.
Timberland Varsity Cheer State Champions
The Timberland High School Varsity Cheer Squad captured first place in the Large Co-Ed Division in the Missouri Cheerleading Coaches Association (MCCA) State Championship. Read more.
District Wrestling State Champions
Two WSD wrestlers, Cassidy Benwell and Kate Cooper, took home individual state titles during the MSHSAA Girls Wrestling Championship at the University of Missouri-Columbia on Feb. 17-19. Read more.
Liberty Varsity Dance State Champions
The Liberty High School Varsity Dance Team captured first place in Division 5 at the Missouri Dance Team Association (MDTA) State Competition on Saturday, Feb. 26, at the Family Arena in St. Charles. This is the fourth state championship title for the Liberty Belles. Read more.
MOSHAPE Administrator of the Year
Meghan Aydelott, content leader of the practical arts for the Wentzville School District, was named the 2021 Administrator of the Year by the Missouri Society of Health and Physical Educators (MOSHAPE). Read more.
DANIELLE EICHMEYER
Danielle Eichmeyer, building instructional assistant at Heritage Intermediate, noticed a student choking. She stepped in to deliver the Heimlich maneuver and quickly saved the student. This is not the first time Ms. Eichmeyer has shown this compassion and courage. In 2014, she saved a student, now a WSD Senior, from choking in the cafeteria as well. Our WSD staff and families are very grateful for her heroic ability to think quickly on her feet! See more.
NATIONAL SUPERINTENDENT OF THE YEAR
Dr. Curtis Cain, WSD superintendent, was selected as the 2022 AASA National Superintendent of the Year®. He is the first Missouri superintendent to earn this honor. Congratulations, Dr. Cain! Read more.
Principal of Journey Elementary
The WSD Board of Education approved the hiring of Emily Dittmer as the principal of Journey Elementary, effective July 1, 2022. Dittmer has worked in education for more than 20 years. She currently serves as the founding principal of EAGLE College Preparatory Schools. Prior to that, she worked in the Rockwood School District as an assistant principal, teacher, and administrative intern.
Assistant Principal of Peine Ridge
The WSD Board of Education approved the hiring of Dr. Kelly Manning as an assistant principal of Peine Ridge Elementary, effective July 1, 2022. Dr. Manning has served the WSD as a content leader for the past six years. She previously served the District as a literacy coach and a fifth-grade teacher.
Principal of Prairie View Elementary
The WSD Board of Education approved the hiring of Dr. Theresa McCulloch as the principal of Prairie View Elementary, effective July 1, 2022. McCulloch has been the assistant principal at Prairie View Elementary for the past twelve years. Prior to serving the building in an administrative capacity, she was a first-grade teacher where she earned the distinction of Teacher of the Year.
Approval of Resignations
The Board of Education approved the resignation of John Schulte, assistant superintendent of administrative services; Dr. Kara Knight, principal of Boone Trail Elementary; and Erik Bruner-Wiltse, assistant director of alternative learning. The resignation of Dr. Jodi Oliver, principal of Heritage Intermediate, was also accepted following the previous Board meeting.
- Tuesday, April 19, 2022, will be the Board of Education reorganization meeting.
- The next regular Board Meeting is set for Thursday, April 21, 2022.
