What is #DLDAY?

From the Digital Learning Day Website:

"Started in 2012, Digital Learning Day has provided a powerful venue for education leaders to highlight great teaching practice and showcase innovative teachers, leaders, and instructional technology programs that are improving student outcomes. This grassroots effort blossomed into a massive nationwide celebration as teachers realized that Digital Learning Day is not about technology, it’s about learning. It’s not about laying off teachers for laptops, it’s about enhancing the role of the teacher in America’s classrooms. Digital Learning Day promotes the effective use of modern day tools afforded to every other industry to improve the learning experience in K-12 public schools."

What will #DLDAY look like at Shamrock Gardens?

It all depends...on YOU! You get to decide how you want to use digital learning on this day choosing what tools, what people, and how big you want the celebration to be! Don't forget--this doesn't need to be something new that you implement in your classroom--you can use a digital learning activity that already is happening in your classroom. No matter what you choose to do, we want to make sure to highlight the awesome things you and your students are doing on this day to maximize the impact!

See Below for Some Great Tools to Use for #DLDAY 2016!

Reminders!

--#DLDAY is completely optional! There is no need to do something different or special if you do not want to!

--Feel free to make #DLDAY an event for your whole classroom community! Invite parents, relatives, the President--the sky's the limit!

--#DLDAY is meant to highlight ways we use Digital Learning to improve outcomes for students. Look at it as an opportunity to celebrate what you already do or to kick off a new tool for your classroom!
