Among recent headlines at HHS:
It’s playoff time, and many of our fall teams have qualified for post-season play.
The volleyball team traveled to Shrewsbury for a first-round game last night.
The field hockey team will host Beverly today at 5:30 PM.
The football team will travel to Chelmsford tonight.
The boys’ soccer team will host Attleboro on Saturday at 1 PM.
The dance team will engage in a regional competition tomorrow before moving on to the postseason in two weeks.
The crew teams will conclude the fall season with the Frosty Bow Sprints, a rare home event, at Bare Cove Park on Sunday morning at 8:30 AM.
The girls’ soccer team will host a first-round game vs. Attleboro or Bridgewater-Raynham on Monday at 7 PM.
Qualifying cross-country runners will compete in the MIAA championships in Wrentham next Saturday.
HHS has extended hospitality to 18 French students (sophomores and juniors) during a memorable exchange that will conclude tomorrow.
Looking ahead…
The first term will close on Tuesday.
HHS must implement parking restrictions on Tuesday, since it’s Election Day, and HHS is a polling location. On that day, all students who drive to school must park in the far lot, even if they have a “close lot” sticker. Sorry!
The HHS PTO will partner with the Fruit Center Marketplace on an annual fundraiser next week. Visit their website for details about how to support our school by shopping at a great local institution.
HHS will host the annual Hingham Holiday Fair on Saturday 11/19.
The annual Turkey Trot, the biggest fundraiser of the year for our cross-country and track teams, is now less than three weeks away. Sign up today, and get training!
The Fall Musical premieres in less than a month, and it’s not too soon to reserve your tickets for what is sure to be an amazing show!
A message from Mrs. Jacobson, the HHS math teacher who has helped to build the “Extreme Couponing Challenge” into a valued HHS tradition:
We need coupons! Our HHS Algebra 1 with Linear Emphasis classes will be completing our annual "Extreme Couponing" challenge within the next month. The purpose of the project is to demonstrate real-life saving opportunities as well as applying algebraic skills to savings situations. If you have seen TLC's Extreme Couponing show, you will get the idea. On December 6, 2022, we will be going to the Hingham Stop & Shop to see how much we can purchase for $500 (donated by the HHS PTO). All items will be donated to the Hingham Food Pantry.
We need coupon inserts from newspapers (Save, SmartSource, P&G BrandSaver, etc). Other coupons (catalinas, online coupons, manufacturer coupons, etc.) are also appreciated. All coupons can be dropped off in Mrs. Jacobson's room (225) or mailbox at Hingham HS.
For more info on the project, go:

Finally, a reminder to students that behavioral incidents may be reported in a number of different ways, not only in-person to a trusted adult (e.g., counselor, teacher, assistant principal, etc.) but also by using an online reporting form. Please help us to ensure that HHS remains a safe and supportive place for everybody.
The daily notices, the full school calendar, and the student newspaper, can always be viewed on the HHS website. Look for details on the website and in our weekly PTO newsletter.
Have a great weekend!
