Specialists Request:
Hi South Row Families,
As we head into the colder weather, the specialist team at South Row is in need of tissues and baby wipes. We would also like a few bottles of hand sanitizer for the classrooms. Thanks so much in advance and you can bring donations to the office for distribution.
WE REALLY APPRECIATE THIS!!
ATTENTION 4th Grade Families!
Thank you to all who came out to our 4th Grade Activities kick-off meeting on October 10th! We had a great turnout and many parents have volunteered for various roles. Committees have been formed and have started planning the fun, but its not too late to get involved! If you missed the meeting you can find the notes by clicking here. If you would like to be involved, please email southrowpto@gmail.com and we will be happy to connect you. The 4th Grade Activities include a class t-shirt, class gift, yearbook, field day (with lunch) in the spring, and swag bag. The fee per child this year is $35. A flyer will be going home next week, please return by December 1st or you can complete online here. Any additional donation on top of the $35 is greatly appreciated! No child will be denied the opportunity to have or participate in any part of these activities. The PTO maintains a hardship fund and will cover the costs for any families seeking assistance. You may contact your child's teacher, Nurse V, or school administration and your privacy will be respected. We look forward to making this year extra special for our 4th Graders!
Nurse's Corner
Hello South Row Families,
Just a few reminders this week!
Please note the below Covid Exposure Guidelines:
All exposed individuals may continue to attend programming as long as they remain asymptomatic. A high quality mask should be worn for 10 days, and test 5 days after the exposure on Day 6. If symptoms develop, follow the guidance for symptomatic individuals, below.
Symptomatic individuals should be sent home and allowed to return to their program or school if symptoms remain mild and they test negative, or they have been fever-free for 24 hours without the use of fever-reducing medication and their symptoms are resolving, or if a medical professional makes an alternative diagnosis. A negative test is strongly recommended for return. Best practice would also include wearing a mask, if possible, until symptoms are fully resolved. For symptomatic individuals, MDPH recommends a second test within 48 hours if the initial test is negative.
If your student tests positive, please contact me via email or phone and alert your child’s pediatrician. Here are the guidelines for returning to school.
Children and staff who test positive must be isolated for at least 5 days. If they are asymptomatic or symptoms are resolving and they have been fever free without the use of fever-reducing medicine for 24 hours, they may return to programming after Day 5 and should wear a high-quality mask through Day 10:
If the individual is able to mask, they must do so through Day 10.
If the child has a negative test on Day 5 or later, they do not need to mask (please provide documentation for the negative test to the school nurse).
If the individual is unable to mask, they may return to programming with a negative test on Day 5 or later.
Please notify your school nurse of a positive COVID-19 test result.
The full Covid Protocol can be found here.
Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions.
Warmly,
Nurse V.

We are in the last few days of our Spiritwear fundraiser! Here's the link if you still need to order Spirit Wear | South Row PTO (square.site). More details can be found on the PTO website.
Speaking of the website, we try to keep it updated regularly so it is a great resource for all things PTO if you find yourself with questions. www.SouthRowPTO.com
Make sure you plan to attend our next meeting on November 14th. We'll have new information or updates from Mrs. Gilbert and Mr. Ramalho, staff spotlight, and refreshments. And as we'll have with each meeting, there will be time for committees to meet after the business portion is finished. ALL are welcome.
