DID YOU KNOW THAT...
A VERY SPECIAL THANK YOU TO OUR PRINCIPAL MRS. KRAMER
The perfect attendance/straight A drive thru was a success. Thank you Mrs. Kramer! Your generosity and thoughtfulness really made the students feel special by acknowledging their hard work with personalized certificates and ice cream.
If, you were not able to make the drive thru please make an appointment to come pick up your certificate from campus.
THIS WEEK AT BVM WE WANT TO INTRODUCE....
Your BVM Treasurer Karen Baeza
My name is Karen Baeza and I am your ASB treasurer for the 2020-2021 school year. I am so excited to be your treasurer this year! This school has taught me so much and I am very glad to be apart of it all. Some things about me is that I love to cook, I play volleyball, and my favorite animals are dogs and dolphins. A little backstory of me is that ever since I learned about ASB and how fun it is, I’ve always wanted to join. ASB is a great group of students who work hard to keep our school great. Another thing about me is that I live to play sports. For me, sports is a big part of my life. I have been playing sports since I was little, from soccer to dance. But the one that I really love to do is playing volleyball. Volleyball has taught me so much from being a team player to helping others as well as being compassionate towards my teammates. I think that volleyball has shaped me to the person I am and got me to this point. All in all I am so happy to be representing you as your treasurer and of you need any help or guidance or someone to talk to feel free emailing me at; kbaeza2@sweetwaterschools.net Have a good week!
-Karen Baeza
YOU ASKED AND WE DELIVERED: MEET MR. FUQUA
I am from Chula Vista. In fact, I am the fifth generation of my family to live in Chula Vista. I went to Castle Park Elementary, Middle, and High Schools. I do have family members, however, who went to Bonita Vista Middle and High Schools.
How long have you been teaching? What made you want to teach middle school age students?
This is my 8th year teaching. I started teaching at Hilltop High School in 2013. I wanted to teach middle school, because I really enjoy US History and I enjoyed 8th grade when I was in school. I fondly remember my 8th Grade US History teacher, Mr. Eagleton. We had to memorize and recite the entire Gettysburg Address to the class, and I can still remember the beginning half of it. If my students are reading this, don’t worry, I won’t make you memorize or recite the Gettysburg Address.
What is your favorite way to spend a Saturday night?
This is a fun question. I am actually more of a morning person. My favorite way to spend a Saturday night is going out to dinner with friends and family. It seems like there is always someone I know with an upcoming birthday, and Saturdays are a good day we can all get together and celebrate, but even if there is no birthday to celebrate, it is always nice to spend time with friends and family. These days, I am dining at home on Saturday nights (and all nights), of course, but I am enjoying that too.
What are your 3 best skills?
My three best skills are: organization, dedication, and being personable.
What is your favorite quote?
My favorite quote is: “the only thing we have to fear is fear itself” (by President Franklin D. Roosevelt, 1933).
There you have it Crusaders! Who do you want to learn more about next? Email your suggestions at ashley.schroeder@sweetwaterschools.org
INTERESTED IN STARTING A SCHOOL CLUB/CHARTER FOR 20-21 YEAR PLEASE READ
Requirements For Making A Club
For anyone who is looking to create a club this school year, these are the things you need to do to make that possible. To create a club you will need a Staff member that is a Certificated employee, you will also be needing to fill out the club form that will be sent to Mrs. Schroeder the ASB advisor and from there the ASB will vote on having your club certified. This club will need to have open membership and it needs to be educational. I will attach a picture of the form so you can see what else you need to do to be able to create your own club. Hope to see new clubs popping up this year Crusaders.
