Updates Regarding the Return to In-Person Instruction
As shared earlier this week, the Wake County Board of Education approved a plan Tuesday evening calling for students not enrolled in the Virtual Academy to return to schools on a rotation schedule beginning the week of February 15.
The plan calls for the following:

- Grades 4 and 5, and All Middle and High School Grades: Students will return in three-cohort rotations, starting with Cohort 2 per the school calendars.
Penny Road Students will return to school on February 17th.
Teachers will share information regarding re-opening along with cohort assignment reminders.

Send a Virtual Valentine's Day Card to St. Jude
To help spread love, cheer and support to those who may be going through a challenging time, Penny Road Elementary School will partner with Ms. Brush's 3rd Grade Class for a Valentine's Day Virtual Card Project in support of #OtherPeopleMatter. To help us with this project we are asking that each student sends a virtual Valentine's Day Card to the children at St. Jude's Hospital. Click on the CREATE A CARD to get started. Thank you, Pandas for your support to show others that we care. #PANDALOVE #OTHERPEOPLEMATTER #PANDASTRONG

A Note from Our Hospitality Committee
Hello!
We hope you are all doing well! The Hospitality Committee is planning some fun surprises for the teachers and staff at Penny Road this spring and we would love your help to make these surprises extra special! In the past, our committee has asked parents to send in food contributions and drinks for our staff. This year that isn't possible given COVID-19 and the precautions we must take to protect our staff.
We will be collecting money over the next 2 weeks to help cover the costs of catered lunches, gift cards, and other fun surprises during Staff Appreciation Week {which is May 3-7 this year}. Any donation amount is very appreciated, no amount is too small. Please send donations by: Wednesday, February 17, 2021.
Donations can be sent to Jessica Munro via PayPal or Venmo. In the notes section of your donation please reference "Penny Road Hospitality Committee."

Thank you in advance for your donation. Our Penny Road Staff is the best and we can not wait to show them how appreciated they are!
