CHS Weekly Update
Week 8: 10-20-19
What an Awesome Week!
Last week was an awesome display of school spirit. I'm really proud of how our students participated and handled the excitement of this week. Much of this is due to the routines, structures, and participation of our staff in this week. Thank you to everyone who made it so wonderful! A special thanks goes to Mike Pehote for running the show the whole week - it's always a good one. This week, we are slowing down a little bit, but still have 40 ninth-grade students and 40 twelfth-grade students participating in the U.S. DOE Longitudinal study on Wednesday and capping the week with our last home football game and a regional cross country meet.
Other Things on My Mind...
- Tomorrow we will host seniors in the auditorium during advisory to meet with Jostens. Please be sure to take attendance and send students immediately to the auditorium.
- We will also have a fire drill tomorrow during 5th hour.
- Advisory will be rotating this week for grades 10 and 11. Please make sure to share your results of the pre-post tests with admin so that we are able to track and share out with the building our progress.
- Important: Please make sure to turn in emergency forms for students to Beth Wilson in the office. If you are still holding on to them, please turn them in with a checklist roster that shows who you are missing.
- As a result of BAT team, we are going to be establishing a committee to create some common understanding and agreements about how general ed and special ed best work together to support our students. The plan is to share the results and spread this staff-wide at our November PD.
- We have a staff meeting this Thursday that begins at 2:45 in the media center. We are going to be working on strategies for our goals, sharing out our data from advisory (there will be a few minutes to check in with your advisory groups), and will have our first of "This is My Best" (email to follow).
- Have a great week! :)
