What's Happening...

As you can see from the pictures above, the children are putting the finishing touches on our sewing projects. The children loved sewing so much, we continued with our sewing to create items to be sold at our Montessori Boutique. During the Arts Festival on May 20, we will be selling headbands and clips featuring the sewing and design skills of the children. Lorenzo had the wonderful idea of sewing bandanas for pets, so those will be on sale too. Sewing is a wonderful way to promote fine motor and concentration skills. The children also enjoyed collaborating and learning about colors, patterns and design. A preview of our work is hanging on the Library bulletin board; we can't wait for you to see it.

Over the next couple weeks we will be learning about Life Cycles. What is a Life Cycle? Do all living things undergo the same life cycle? Do all creatures go through metamorphosis? We will take a look and compare the life cycles of a seed, a butterfly, and ladybugs. We will be quite busy!

Please keep in mind that school is closed Friday, May 6, for Conferences. Reminders of the time you have signed up for have been sent home. The schedule is also posted on the classroom door.
