Principal's Message
February came and went as this is our last week! Time sure flies! As we continue to focus on our work among our top priorities this week along with good first teaching:
- TELPAS testing
- Intervention Plans are implemented
- PBIS Reboot Meeting
To discuss a little about PBIS, our campus rolled out Positive Behavior Intervention Supports a few years ago. Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) is an evidence-based three-tiered framework to improve and integrate all of the data, systems, and practices affecting student outcomes every day. PBIS creates schools where all students succeed.
We had a cadre that has worked through the years to ensure we keep updated. Over the years some of you have joined us and were not part of the original cadre to develop the work. Truthfully, we have let this go a bit to the wayside and it is time for us to reboot our PBIS support. Ms. Cooper, our consultant will be working with us on Wednesday to get us back up & started. In fact, the only way for this to work is for you to be part of the decision making. So, with that said, we will review some great things we already have in place, but many areas we need to work towards improving.
For those of you that want to join the cadre that will meet this year, please forward your name to Jakerian Colvin who will lead this cadre with Ms. Cooper.
Lastly, the CIT will be voting for next year's duty schedule. Please vote on the times here.
May you enjoy this beautiful week with love, learning, and joy for sharing the light you were gifted.
Wildcat Love and respect,
Rachel Martinez
