What's Happening at NCCS?

Basketball Season Begins!

Students in 5th through 12th grades are ready for the 2019/20 basketball season! Games have already began for our youngest teams, and high school games begin this week. The first home Varsity games are on Wednesday, Dec. 4, beginning at 5:30 PM (girls)/ 7 PM (boys).

Mad Science After School Program

Mad Science is coming to NCCS this winter for an after school program for our students!

WHAT: NASA Academy (see website link below for program details)

WHEN: Thursdays, February 13-March 19, 2:45-3:45 PM

WHERE: NCCS Classrooms

WHO: Students in 1st-6th Grade

HOW: Registration (and payment) is through MAD SCIENCE. Check their website for more information.

New Science Curriculum Adopted

We are excited to announce that a new science curriculum has been adopted for grades 7-12th. The curriculum we selected is published by BJU Press, a curriculum developer with a solid biblical worldview. We anticipate that the resources will arrive later this month, so we will be able to implement it very soon! It is our goal to provide a quality Christian education with excellent curriculum in every subject. All subjects are being looked at to address this goal.

Christmas Childcare

On Dec. 13, 5-8:30 PM, the high school ASB leaders will host an evening of Christmas Childcare. They will provided a fun time with crafts, games, a movie & dinner! The rate is $18/student. Questions should be directed to ASB Advisor, Mrs. Mee, at .

Students Earn Band "Karate Belt"

Band Karate Achievements

Band Karate is a motivational program that encourages students to progress and excel in their skills. Each student can progress at any rate. However, in order to achieve their black belt they must pace themselves appropriately. There are a total of ten belts. Students will be recognized for every belt they earn.

Band Karate Belt Status as of November:

  • Yellow (2nd) Belt: Karis, Carina, Keeley, Izzy, Lucy, Kian, Dean, Rider
  • Green (4th) Belt: Richard, Timothy, Abby, Allison
  • Purple (6th) Belt: In progress for three students! Will be revealed when achieved!

NHS Homework Help

Does your student need a space to work on homework and receive individual help?

National Honors Society (NHS) members have organized a “Homework Help” system, where your child can come and receive assistance outside of school hours from the NHS Juniors and Seniors. Here are the details for this program:

  • WHEN: Every Monday afternoon 3:15-4:15 pm & Thursday morning 7:45-8:10 am

  • WHERE: Room 212 (Monday) and EDP Building (Wednesday)

  • WHO: Open to all grades in high school, junior high, and elementary school.

  • WHY: Offers help in all subjects

  • It's FREE!

Sylvan Learning Offers Special for NCCS Students
