Welcome to The Connection, our new weekly newsletter connecting you to important news, events, and activities happening in the School District of Indian River County. This newsletter will highlight events throughout all grade levels and include district news. We are looking forward to your input in The Connection and hope that you will submit important news and information to be considered for publishing. A decision was made at the July 24th Board meeting to delay the enforcement of an updated dress code until the 2019-2020 school year.
Back to School Event this weekend!
It’s that time of year again…we're inviting our school families to attend the “Back to School” event hosted by the Indian River Mall on Saturday, July 28th from 11am-2pm. Several of our schools will be represented along with a few of our SDIRC departments. Information Technology will be available for parents to create a Focus account to monitor their child’s grades, attendance, and assignments via the web or the Focus Community App. They will provide instructions to register for an account and installing the Focus Community App, if you wish to register at home. Food and Nutrition Services will be there with information for www.lunchapplication.com, a website that will allow parents to expedite their free and reduced lunch applications, menus for the upcoming school year, and a meal pricing list. Human Resources will provide information on all open positions, and will be specifically recruiting for Substitute Teachers and Teacher Assistants. NEw student enrollment information
We welcome new students, including incoming kindergarten students, to our District! To enroll a new student, please visit their zoned school with a birth certificate, social security card (optional), proof of residence (utility bill, electric, cable), and a physical form completed by their physician. For questions or clarification, please call your student's zoned school. We look forward to meeting you next month!
