A Message From Dr. Flowers- Principal
Dear Families:
It's hard to believe that we are already in the second nine weeks of school. Time is moving quickly! Just a reminder, there is no school on November 7th and 8th. We will have parent- teacher conferences the morning of November 7th and the evening of the 10th. If you have not signed up for a conference please reach out to your child’s teacher.
Next Thursday, the entire school is going to see Peter Pan at the high school. Your child must have a signed permission to slip to attend. Also, our Fundraiser pick-up will be on Thursday, November 10th, from 2:00- 6:00 pm. On November 11th, we will have our Veteran’s Day Assembly. Please make sure your child sends in their form ASAP if a Veteran is attending so we have an accurate count of how many people to expect. Have a great weekend!
Thanks,
Barb Flowers

Routines and Sleep!!
Getting back into the swing of a schedule is difficult to do. Keeping a routine helps establish healthy habits, it can help kids gain confidence and independence, establish expectations as well as lower anxiety. Sleep is so important for students, kids 5 to 12 years old need 9 to 12 hours each night. Not every kid is the same; some kids need more sleep than others. Setting up a regular bedtime each night with a nightly routine such as turning off screens, reading together, and brushing teeth can make bedtime smoother for all. And just like a nightly routine, morning consistency can make for a great start to each day. Waking up at the same time each morning and having a healthy breakfast can help students be recharged and ready for a day at school. Along with nightly and morning routines, having an after-school homework plan can help students stay on top of their homework and help students develop time management skills! Don't hesitate to get in touch with me if you have any questions or need any help setting up routines at home!

PBIS CORNER
What is PBIS?
Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports is an important part of the school environment to encourage positive behavior. There are clear expectations throughout the school that are taught consistently throughout the year. The four expectations promoted at Field Local Schools are:
Safe
Outstanding
Accountable
Respectful
When students do not respond to teaching of the building or classroom expectations, we will view it as an opportunity for re-teaching, not just negative consequences. Students still receive consequences for negative behavior. The goal of the consequence is to teach students so they will not repeat the negative behavior.
